Gucci Will Accept Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin

The Italian megabrand is set to accept payment in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and other digital currencies at select US stores.

Clients of Italian luxury giant Gucci can before long compensation for items in digital currency at specific US retail locations.

Gucci will accept 10 digital currencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin close by five stable coins fixed to the USD beginning not long from now, the brand said Wednesday. The experimental run program will at first be restricted to its retail locations in Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Las Vegas.

The move comes as luxury brands compete to try different things with instruments connected to blockchain and the metaverse in a bid to investigate the buzzy space, as well as to cultivate permeability and brotherhood among early adopters of the innovations, a significant number of whom have seen their digital currency possessions ascend in esteem.

Gucci has as of late sold non-fungible tokens and virtual tennis shoes as well as arranged computer-generated experience brand enactments while LVMH-claimed Fendi sent off a line of crypto “wallets.” Designer Phillip Plein proclaimed himself the “crypto ruler” the previous summer after turning into the principal extravagance brand to acknowledge the computerized tokens as installments.

”This is the next phase of the company’s Web 3.0 journey,” Gucci’s statement said.

Gucci is attempting to drive buzz and speed up deals in the key US market, which has been driving extravagance’s development since the pandemic. The brand has moved back above 2019′s pre-Covid levels, yet its deals are developing more leisurely than at rival “megabrands” like LVMH’s Louis Vuitton or family-controlled Hermès.
